Hyderabad blasts: 3 grilled for ‘providing’ bikes to Indian Mujahideen for recce

HYDERABAD: In a significant breakthrough in the Dilsukhnagar bomb blasts, the city police have zeroed in on the three persons who had allgedly supplied motorcycles for Indian Mujahideen activists Syed Maqbool and Imran Khan to conduct the recce of three areas in the city including Dilsukhnagar sometime last year.

The three persons are Masdoor-ur-Rehman, Abrar and Adnan Ahmed, all Hyderabadis. The trio were picked up two days ago, questioned and let off. Masdoor-ur-Rehman is the brother of Obaidur Rehman, also a terror suspect. Obaidur Rehman is currently lodged in the Bangalore Central Jail after being arrested by the Karnataka police in connection with the Bangalore bomb blasts.

A Karnataka police team had arrested Obaidur Rehman from his Old City residence in Hyderabad in September last year. According to cops, Masdoor had prevailed upon Abrar and Adnan to provide their motorcycles to Maqbool and Imran. The two youths claimed that they were completely ignorant about the purpose for which the IM activists took their vehicles.

When STOI contacted Adnan Ahmed's father Syed Haji, he said his son was innocent. "Police released him after questioning him. The report about Adnan providing bikes to IM activists is false. I am yet to talk to my son," Haji said.
